American sledge hockey players are gold! They decided it eleven seconds before the end of match!
Not even William Shakespeare could think out such drama. Norway played the closed game with USA for forty five minutes. It was sledge hockey which could bear the strictest rules. But the ending! When everything looked like the need for overtime, Andy Yohe scored after won face-off and he ensured the gold medal for the United States. It was only 11 seconds and 4 hundredths to the end of the match. The world champions in sledge hockey in the year 2009 are the United States of America!

We wanted to have a medal, says Sudo
Japan players will return without medals this year. In bronze medal game they lost to Canada 0:2. There was a huge difference between their game in round robin, which they lost 0:7.„It was a completely different game,“ agrees Satoru Sudo, best japanese palyer of the game.

Canada did not allow any surprise in the bronze medal game
Sledge hockey players from Canada and Japan fought in the bronze medal game. Same teams played the match of the basic group and at this match Canada had clearly dominated. But in the match for third place Canada couldn´t find their way. The tied game was played where Canada was able to score two goals in the first two periods and take care of the result then. Originally Canadians came to Ostrava for the gold medal, but finally they had to take bronze medals.

Fifth place for Czech team was decided in shootout
In the match for fifth place Czech national team presented themselves against Italy. The match was from the beginning in friendly mood. Both teams had not many scoring opportunities and the game was more like average. Czech team was better but for the third time in the tournament they finished match without any goal. Not even overtime decided about winner, so shootout came. Only one who succeed was captain of the Czech team Jiří Berger. Czech Republic won over Italy 1:0 after shootout and can celebrate fifth place at the World championship.
